La Paz Chattanooga is the leading Latino organization in southeast Tennessee. Our team is
bilingual, bicultural and skilled at meeting the needs of, and engaging with, the diverse Latino
community. La Paz Chattanooga seeks an additional team member that holds a commitment to the advancement of the Latino community. Complete verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required.
Reception - Hospitality
● Welcome guests in a positive and helpful manner and direct/announce them
appropriately
● Develop and maintain knowledge of community resources
● Manage multiple phone lines, texts and emails: answer, screen and forward all
calls/texts as indicated
● Identify and provide limited services to clients such as application assistance or
information and referral
● Serve as a liaison between clients and case managers
● Maintain calendar and set appointments for case management team
● Protect client information in a safe and confidential manner using secure database tools
● Maintain a productive and welcoming work environment for clients, visitors and staff
● Build positive relationships with team and external partners
Administrative
● Manage facility usage and calendar
● Maintain facility to assure that it is continuously ready for use
● Coordinate in-house classes, workshops and events including problem-solving,
welcoming guests, directing event set-up, communicating with staff, organizing vendors
and collecting participant fees
● Work with staff members across departments to ensure efficiencies and maximize
success
● Assist with communications and marketing (Spanish) tasks as needed
● Screen internal and external visitors and telephone calls for all La Paz staff
● Perform general administrative support as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
● Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and have knowledge of Latino culture/community
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to write in a clear and
compelling style
● Demonstrated ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods and
approaches
● Highly organized, self-motivated, professional and able to manage details
● Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
simultaneously
● Able to perform duties requiring independent judgment with minimum supervision
● Basic computer skills and knowledge of standard office practices, principles, and
methods
● Communications experience a plus
● Knowledge of social media platforms a plus
Position & Compensation: The Bilingual Office Coordinator is a full-time role earning $36,000 a year. Additionally, La Paz provides a health and communications stipend of $350 a month
totaling $4,200 annually.
