La Paz Chattanooga is the leading Latino organization in southeast Tennessee. Our team is bilingual, bicultural and skilled at meeting the needs of, and engaging with, the diverse Latino community. La Paz Chattanooga seeks an additional team member that holds a commitment to the advancement of the Latino community.The Program and Outreach Coordinator works closely with the Community Education and Engagement Director of La Paz Chattanooga to build, implement and execute robust programming for our growing Latino community. Complete verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Management
● Positions La Paz Chattanooga as a recognized, trusted, and reliable voice providing services in the Latino community in Chattanooga
● Monitors and informs staff of developing trends, issues, events impacting programming efforts of La Paz
● Builds and maintains collaboration and trust among partners by consistently delivering on promises
● Manages volunteer coordination as needed to support programming (ie childcare etc)
● Oversee the coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and scope (ie onsite food pantry)
● Represents La Paz at community meetings and events as requested
Program Development & Coordination
● Works in partnership with the Community Education Director to develop and/or coordinate current and new classes and workshops in Spanish.
● Oversees day-of logistics of classes, workshops and programmatic events
● Works with staff to develop and implement marketing, outreach and communication plans and strategies
● Tracks metrics and other relevant information, and uses data to inform recommendations for future improvements to relevant staff
Outreach & Engagement
● Attend community events as a La Paz Chattanooga representative.
● Conduct outreach to agencies, organizations, partners, and stakeholders to conduct presentations; manage and coordinate invitations and scheduling.
● Coordinate meetings/gatherings with in-house partners
● Develop community partnerships and secure participants for classes and workshops (recruitment and follow up with community members)
● Conduct various surveys to engage community members
● Increase visibility and understanding of La Paz Chattanooga
QUALIFICATIONS
● 3 years’ experience in a for-profit, non-profit, or public sector environment
● Exhibit a deep knowledge of Latino culture and community
● Experience in building effective collaboration, managing a project or initiative to completion
● Bachelor’s degree in a related field is a plus
● Prove experience in a variety of business-related technologies, including G-suite
● Strong bilingual communication skills
● Prioritizing complex responsibilities
● Maintaining high attention to detail
Position & Compensation: Program and Outreach Coordinator is a full-time role earning $43,000. Additionally La Paz provides a health and communications stipend of $350 a month totaling $4,200 annually.
